Here at Naturally Wild we have an outstanding records of successfully applying for European Protected Species Licences for a whole range of species. The last 12 months has seen a huge number of successful applications for Bat related EPSL's. Although our head office in in Stockton-on-Tess we have an office in the South and are able to deliver our surveys and EPSL works nationwide. This last week saw us working with a long term customer in Worcester where we surveys a private luxury development and obtained a licence for Common Pipistrelle bats. We have completed the required roof strip to ensure that no bats will be harmed during the demolition of a new private dwelling house. Have a long term link with the construction team ensured that all parties knew each other and the project went smoothly.  Tom can be seen in in full PPE

Naturally Wild's ecology team have been called out to a Network Rail site in Laverstock which encountered a landslip as a result of heavy rainfall.  This meant the team needed to be on hand to survey areas inhabited by badgers and the subsequent impact on their habitat. It certainly looks like a big job!

In 2010, Naturally Wild were proud to be involved with the ecological works for the Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park, London. The memorial commemorates the crews of the RAF Bomber Command who carried out missions during the Second World War and is dedicated to the 55,573 aircrew who lost their lives. Naturally Wild undertook ecological surveys within Green Park and provided recommendations and compensation measures to aid biodiversity and minimise ecological impacts of the memorial within the surrounding area. Today, the memorial acts as a fitting tribute to the RAF aircrew of the Bomber Command.

Naturally Wild have worked on numerous national infrastructure projects including highways and railway projects. Our ecologists are qualified to work on railways with Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification. As the incumbent ecologist, it is our responsibility to ensure adjacent habitats and wildlife are unaffected by any proposed works. Many projects require species-specific licenses and survey methodology; it can often be surprising to see so much wildlife living undisturbed next to major transport routes!

Naturally Wild have been working alongside Yorkshire Wildlife Park for a number of years. The visitor attraction, based in Doncaster, receives over 600,000 visitors a year and is fast becoming one of the UK’s favourite days out. Naturally Wild have conducted and created a park wide Ecological Management Plan (EMP) as well as ecological appraisals, protected species surveys and ecological recommendations for the park, enhancing the natural habitats within the site. As the park continues to expand, Naturally Wild have been commissioned to carry out ecological appraisals for new attractions, working with YWP to create a haven for both native and exotic wildlife.
